Quality and Accuracy

How do you ensure data quality?
We use proprietary algorithms based on precise location resolution, demographics, time, engagement metrics, app usage, and various behavioral signals to ensure accurate, quality audiences.
What makes your data unique? (About the LOCALLY Data Quality Index)
We collect a variety of data fields and anonymous location information. From there, we use proprietary data science and algorithms to verify, cleanse and resolve human movement into valuable patterns and insights. Movement & Speed: One user’s device could be idle and repeatedly send the same location information while another user’s device moves periodically. We check each sample of data to determine 1) if the user has moved, 2) what distance has the user moved and 3) at what speed the user is moving. (If we see a slow and uneven rate of movement, this could detect inaccurate inferences). GPS & Coordinates: Accuracy of location coordinates that we are receiving plays a large role in our data quality. Location/GPS coordinates can be affected by weather, signal strength, indoor or outdoor locations. We take all o factors into account and rank the data based on importance and relevance. Applying the LOCALLY’s Data Quality Index: Our data quality algorithms check duplicate entities for all data types and can further be compared against social media data to confirm data quality (such as fake profile detection) to ensure the most quality and accurate data.
Is your data anonymous and privacy-compliant?
Yes, our data is anonymous and privacy-compliant. We do not collect any personally identifiable information, only anonymous data tied to resettable device advertising identifiers. If a mobile application user declines location sharing, none of the LOCALLY services will be available to that user nor will any data be collected from that device.
What systems are in place to account for fraudulent or misleading data?
Our proprietary algorithms look for representative patterns in the data that could indicate fraud. This data is investigated further and removed if deemed fraudulent.

What is the advantage of using audience targeting?
Advertisers and marketers use audience targeting to reach consumers based on real world behaviors. LOCALLY builds targeted mobile audience segments using algorithms based on locations, demographics, time, engagement metrics, carrier usage and more. We offer over 80 audience segments on LiveRamp‘s IdentityLink™ Data Store and PushSpring’s Audience Marketplace. (Adobe coming soon).

More about Location Intelligence Technologies

What are beacons and how are they used?
Beacons are small physical wireless transmitters that use low-energy Bluetooth technology to send signals to nearby smart devices. They are considered the foundation of the Internet of Things, providing more advanced gathering and out-of-store marketing capabilities. For example, a store owner cab use beacons to gather data or deliver personalized, location-based messaging to people who are in or near their location. This drives wider marketing capabilities for initiatives such as loyalty programs, specials and discounts that help drive path-to-purchase and optimize the customer journey.
What are geofences and how are they used?
A geofence is a virtual delimiter around an area on a map that represents an actual geographic area in the world, creating then, a virtual “fence” around a specific part of the planet. This area can be defined by any shape, such as circles, rectangles or polygons. Businesses frequently use geofences to map, track or monitor a geographic area of interest for potential customers, a specific audience, employers, etc. Geofences are also used to trigger events such as alerts, e-mails, offers and reminders. This technology makes use of GPS (Global Position System) or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) to create the boundaries around an area, when a device which connected to the internet and has the GPS or RFID on enter or exit the geofence, this info is track and an action is triggered. LOCALLY’s solutions allow you to define and track geofences to help target the right audiences. Our LOCALLY Engage platform allows you to create “Coverage Area Campaigns” where you define a geofence, campaign proximity and content and target demographics such as age/gender. You can also create geofences and measure impressions. It also provides consistent and powerful SDK capabilities allowing you to maximize the potential of Geofences in two ways:. This information allows you to target customer through other channels. Companies also use this data to understand offline behavior of its customers. This tool is simple to implement and offers a powerful solution for agencies, marketers and businesses.
